  • An account of travels in Tibet in 1947.  Traveling through the Chinese-Tibetan border provinces into Tibet, Inner Mongolia and North China, the author lived with the people and penetrated the mysteries of their religion.
    A narrative of the travels of a French physician in 1946 across the great Grass Desert, to Lake Koko Nor, Tangar, Sining, Lanhow and Ningsia and then across the muddy plains of the Ordos country to Paotow, ending at Peiping. He and a companion were arrested by the Chinese Communists in North China and held prisoners for several weeks before being allowed to return to Peiping.
