With Dulcimer and Double Bass Trekking with Music to the Roof of the World

In the winter of 1998/99, Wetter Stein hut custodian and successful author Charly Wehrle visited his friend and colleague of many years, Sherpa Gyaltsen, to celebrate Gyaltsens sixtieth birthday in Nepal. Their ten-day musical trek ended with an exhilarating birthday party at Namche Bazar, a mountain village at the foot of Mount Everest. All day and all evening long, the eight-strong group played with dulcimer, double bass, accordion and guitars. It was an intercultural experience.
