Title:Boudhanath A Vision of Peace and Serenity
Remarks:Colour Photographs, Glossary and Bibliography.
Size:103 x 152 mm
To the northeast of Kathmandu lies a sacred shrine; a place dedicated to devotion, knowledge and wisdom, a place so special that all the worldly evils cannot penetrate its precincts.
Here is the great Stupa of Boudhanath, a place of worship that lives on, never failing to give inspiration. A great tower of strength to warm the heart and release the tensions of daily toil- Sweet incense spirals past the face, giving an uplifting awareness. Melodious tunes and chants echo across this hallowed space to bring enlightenment of a fleeting kind.
All these relevant subjects are explained. Like a jewel sparkling in the morning rays of a warming sun, the Boudhanath Stupa is truly a vision of peace and serenity.
Sian Pritchard-Jones and Bob Gibbons met in 1983, on a trek from Kashmir to Ladakh. Since then they have been leading and organising treks in the Alps, Nepal and the Sahara. They work in Kathmandu every winter and always relish returning to the Annapurna region, one of their favourite trekking haunts.
